I tried all of Dutch Bros Coffee’s fan-favorite drinks and ranked them from worst to best

I tried all of Dutch Bros Coffee’s eight drinks on the Dutch Faves menu.
The Caramelizer and the Kicker were both very sweet and did not wow me.
The Annihilator was a close second to the chain’s pumpkin drink.
In 1992, the Dutch Bros Coffee franchise began as a pushcart and has turned into a drive thur empire. More than 900 shops have been opened across the US. This steady growth is also reflected in the Oregon based coffee chain’s 30 percent increase in total revenue from Q2 2023 to Q2 2024.
Dutch Bros has a menu called Dutch Faves, which is a collection of fan favorite drinks, most of which are exclusive to Dutch Bros. Longtime fan that I am, I set out to taste test all eight. I ordered the medium, iced versions of each but you can get them hot or blended so to keep things consistent.
The below is how they ranked from worst to best. Prices are based on one Dutch Bros location in Missouri and may vary in other states.
Caramelizer
Price: $6.38
One of Dutch Bros’ most popular drinks is their take on a caramel mocha. It comes with espresso and caramel sauce and the chain’s branded chocolate milk.
I could definitely see it as a nice cup of caramel hot chocolate as a hot beverage. However, the espresso did not blend well into my iced drink. So inconsistency got it to the bottom of the ranking as the competition was fairly fierce.
Kicker
The iced Kicker is the Irish-cream breve equivalent of an espresso, half-and-half and Irish-cream syrup. It’s definitely sweet and creamy. It was a little like I oversweetened a regular iced coffee that I made at home. The Irish cream wasn’t giving me much depth of flavor. So if you might like sweet drinks more than I was able to it might be this more than it was to me.
Cocomo
Price: $6.38
Dutch Bros’ Cocomo, or coconut mocha, is a refreshing mix of chocolate milk and espresso topped with coconut syrup.I’ve tried seasonal coconut drinks at other coffee shops, and they’ve always been too nutty for me. This had a more subtle flavor, which I preferred. If you like a sweeter drink, I’ve seen some people suggest adding caramel sauce to the Cocomo.
9-1-1
The 9-1-1 is an amped up version of the Kicker if you are in need of a jolt of caffeine. The two have the same basic ingredients, but a medium features six shots of espresso. It adds some espresso to balance the sweetness of the Irish cream. Yes this would for sure keep me energized all day of work.
Double Torture
Price: $6.90
The Double Torture is not as aggressive sounding as its name might suggest, as it only has 9 shots compared to the 9-1-1’s 16. It has four, rather than the usual double shot.Chocolate milk and vanilla syrup are used to balance out the heavy coffee content.
The drink is dark in color but the vanilla added to it makes it taste lighter than a usual mocha. I feel like there’s a solid amount of caffeine and flavor for a busier morning.
Golden Eagle new price
Price: $5.71
The Dutch Bros Golden Eagle is one of the most hyped drinks on the menu. The blended espresso, half-and-half, vanilla syrup and caramel sauce beverage is topped with extra caramel.
This is probably the sweetest of the fan favorite drinks. The coffee flavor was nice, but it bumped it up on my list. People who love a dessert type of coffee experience will love this. If you are not looking for just the usual shot, I suggest tapping your ice to let it melt thus diluting it, or another shot of espresso.
Caramel pumpkin-brûlée breve
Price: $7.47
Caramel pumpkin-brûlée breve is the only seasonal beverage on the Dutch Faves list. The colder fall weather rolled in and I thought it was fitting to sip the pumpkin and salted caramel flavors.
The Dutch signature Soft Top foam, pumpkin drizzle and sugar sprinkles are poured on top of the drink. I was bummed to taste it more like caramel rather than pumpkin, but it actually worked for me. It was a refreshing smooth take on the seasonal flavor.
Annihilator
Price: $6.38
Dutch Bros serves its Annihilator all year and most of the coffee shops I go to just get macadamia nut flavorings a couple of months at a time in the summer.Chocolate macadamia nut syrup, half and half and espresso are the key ingredients in the drink.
For me, it has the most perfect balance of flavors—not too sweet nor bitter. The drinking experience was also very smooth from beginning to end. Crowning the Annihilator was easy.
