Dutch Bros. coffee shop planned for west Urbana 2025
A new Dutch Bros. Coffee Shop with a walk-up as well as a drive-thru could be inaugurated at 809 W. Green Street, Urbana depending urban planning policies of the city The plans for the new building will have to be forwarded for the approval of the Urbana Zoning Board of Appeals and the city’s plan commission.

This new Dutch Bros. Coffee Shop will have outdoor eating area, customer restrooms, a 950 sq ft building with two drive throughs and 16 spaces for parking. The zoning board will cast its votes on the conditional-use permit on Wednesday while the plan commission will vote on whether to recommend the special-use permit for the drive-thru on Thursday. Ultimately the decision remains with the city council.
The applications were filed by attorney Jonathan Thompson for Rockford Structures Construction Company. The site which was a gas station and a convenience store has been abandoned since the year 2021.

In the permit application, Thompson explained that with the University of Illinois and its students nearby, “this amenity would be welcome.”
”Dutch Bros. has a different product offer than most coffee shops since it is a drive-thru company providing specialty drinks for people in a hurry,” he said.
It is stated on the company’s LinkedIn page that it currently operates more than 900 stores in 18 states.
