De’Longhi’s new bean-to-cup coffee machine could make you a milk-frothing maestro
This is a new bean to cup coffee machine from De’Longhi La Specialista Touch.
It can adapt brewing to your coffee beans and has five milk textures.
In addition, the machine can brew cold brew coffee in five minutes.
We tested some of the best coffee makers around here at TechRadar and De’Longhi makes a fine selection of bean to cup machines and this one seems to possess the same skills as a professional barista. The new De’Longhi La Specialista Touch is not only a wide range of hot and cold drinks, but it can also adjust the brewing process to suit your chosen beans and has five different milk textures. The only task on your plate is to spout the latte art.

The new La Specialista Touch, however, is different from the De’Longhi La Specialista Opera, which launched in October, as the new product has a large color touchscreen that allows you to select from a list of preset drink options, as well as tinker with brewing settings: 15 grind sizes and three brewing temperatures.
I must admit that to get the most flavor out of your beans, I’m not sure how. Bean Adapt technology on the machine allows it to recommend different types of coffee with the best dosing, grinding, and extraction settings for types, roasts and blends. After you have found something you like, you can save it to your own personal profile in order to get it next time.
Plant or dairy
What I find most interesting about the machine is that it has a cool touch automatic steam wand that creates five different milk textures using a cool touch automatic steam wand. Always a welcome addition is the fact that the system has settings for both plant and dairy milk. Almond and oat alternatives have many machines optimized for dairy only, and many machines cannot create silky foam.
Cold extraction is another particularly interesting feature that De’Longhi promises will result in a smooth drink with the same flavor profile as traditional overnight cold brewing, but in five minutes. My attempts at cold extraction with a few coffee machines I’ve tried in recent months have been well done, and I’m now curious to see how the La Specialista Touch fares.
Very soon I will be testing the new machine and will bring you a full review showing how it competes with the competition and whether or not it can make the dreamy, creamy microfoam it advertises. De’Longhi has it available now direct for £699 (about $880 / AU$1,400).
